Community Hub

The Community Hub is a great area within itris where you can collaborate with your colleagues on a professional or social level. You can be kept up to date with important company announcements, social events, promotions and even share applicants or jobs with colleagues to help generate more placements.

Introduction

The Community hub is accessed via the Navigation bar, and when you have un-seen posts a red ellipse will be shown on the icon.

Within the Community Hub all users will have access to post images, records, files, weblinks and messages on the Community Feed. The Notice Board is permission-based and is just like the pinboard hung in the staff room, allowing users to post important company information across the business. If you have permissions to post to the Notice Board you can choose to Pin those notices to the top of the feed.

Creating a new post

When creating a new post in both the Community Feed and Notice Board, you will have the options to type notes, set the audience who will see your post, upload an image, link multiple records, add several attachments and enter a hyperlink.

Category

The category will add a tag to your post, letting other users know what kind of information it is you are posting. itris will come with a set of categories. However, this list can be altered from within the IMU in the Data area (see the Data | List Items article).

Audience

Audience allows you to choose who will see your post. Here you can choose one or more individuals, teams or groups so that your post is targeted to the most appropriate users. Leave blank for everybody to see the post. Regardless of your audience, you will always see the posts you make.

If you choose a Team or Group as your audience and a user is later added to that Team/Group they will see the previous posts for that Team/Group. The reverse is also true if a user is removed from a Team/Group, they will no longer see posts intended for that Team/Group.

A default audience can be set up in your itris preferences, please see the itris Preferences article for more information.

Photos

Photos are the most shared content within the world of social media which is why itris allows you to post them to the Community Feed, thereby providing the opportunity to create visually engaging posts and in turn a collaborative community and friendly social culture. You can also post photos to the Notice Board which allows your important announcements to stand out, such as system maintenance, informing colleagues of the times they will be unable to log into itris between.

Record Sharing

Sharing records is a really useful feature of the Community Hub for professional collaboration as it allows you to link multiple records to your post. For instance, you may not have the perfect applicant for a role you are working on so sharing the job and asking colleagues for any recommendations enables suggestions and further links to a pool of ideal applicants. Alternatively, you may have just registered a superb applicant that you link to your post to share them with your colleagues, in case they are suitable for your colleagues’ jobs.

Attachments

Attachments can be added to both the Community Feed and Notice Board posts. You may have adopted new terms of business, and being able to attach documents to posts will allow you to share this information easily across the business via the Notice Board.

Hyperlinks will be displayed as a widget, meaning that when clicked, it will launch the associated hyperlink in your default browser. The widgets will automatically match known domain icons such as YouTube, Google or JustGiving.

Engagement

Liking and commenting on posts is very common in social media and having the ability to like and reply to posts in itris gives you the opportunity to acknowledge or appreciate a post from another user. Engaging with your colleagues like this is another great way of connecting and building a collaborative and positive culture.

Community Notifications

Whenever another user either replies or likes your post, you will be notified by a toast pop out as well as alerts in your Sidebar.

Refresh

The feeds can be refreshed manually from within the Action Bar. Every 60 seconds, itris will automatically notify you if any new posts have been added to the Community Feed or Notice Board by displaying the Load New Posts button to the right of each swim lane header.
