User Management | Teams & Groups

Teams, User Groups and Access Groups are a way of organising your users and can help in areas such as reports, user selection and community audience.

Teams, User Groups and Access Groups are managed within the itris Management Utility (IMU) User Management area.

You can have as many Teams, User Groups and Access Groups as you wish.

These are useful throughout itris as a way of quickly reducing a list of users to select from within the user selection control, by filtering based on teams or groups, see the User Selection Control article for more information.

For reporting purposes, archived users will still be linked to user groups and teams.

Teams

Teams are of particular importance when accessing reports, as the user’s team determines the data they can see, depending on the permissions as well as who their data is associated with. Teams also have a similar influence over Live Jobs and Record Hubs.

Users can only be a member of one team, this is for a number of reasons, firstly the financial reporting will be inaccurate due to the user’s figures duplicating within reports.

Each team can have multiple leaders, including all team members or none at all.

User Groups

Unlike teams, users can be a part of multiple user groups.

Access Groups

Access Groups are a way to keep your data segregated, making certain records inaccessible to those who should not see them. Please see the article Access Groups for more information.

Unassigned Users

At the foot of the Teams & Groups tab is the Unassigned Users button that allows you to view all users not assigned to Teams, User Groups or Access Groups.

When a Team/Group type is selected on the left any relevant unassigned users will be displayed and from here you can assign them to one team and/or one or more User Groups or Access Groups.
